In the past few days, March 29 and 30, we were happily involved by Unaprol with OP Latium in the pruning of olive trees inside the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum.
The olive trees in the Park live in a unique context in the world, in the heart of 21st-century Rome, surrounded by the ancient remains of imperial Rome.
Together with the dozens of tree species present in the Park, they were planted to enhance the landscape and provide relief from the heat for visitors.
It is hard to find the words to describe the responsibility and emotion we felt in preparing and carrying out the project and the pruning.
The respect for the place and its history, for the olive tree, the knowledge of the importance it had along with the vine and the fig for Roman society, the understanding of the landscape and historical context in which we operated, the mastery of the polyconic vase technique, the awareness in its application in every site and environment, the continuous study and comparison gave us the determination to face responsibilities and emotions.
