Five senses for five cultivars

Last night, September 9, 2023, the event "Five senses for five cultivars" took place.
The event was born from the project work of Francesco Tenaglia as part of the "Evologo" course of study, which he recently completed successfully at the ITS Agroalimentare Foundation of Viterbo.
Francesco carried out his internship at our farm between September 2022 and January 2023, actively participating in all production and cultural activities, and, living as our guest in Boville for the entire period, he was able to get to know our history and our traditions.

The event was particularly elaborate and saw the participation of over forty people from the provinces of Frosinone, Latina, and Isernia.

The large group was hosted for lunch in a well-known restaurant in Boville Ernica where they could enjoy traditional dishes expertly revisited by the chef.

Afterwards, they went to the nearby Abbey of Casamari for a private visit and then returned to our village where they were welcomed by the Pro Loco represented by Andrea Luffarelli and our owner Antonio Genovesi.

Starting from Porta San Nicola, the group was guided to the Church of San Pietro Ispano where they could admire the Simoncelli chapel, which houses the mosaic of Giotto's Angel and sculptural works by Bregno and Sansovino, as well as the early Christian sarcophagus dated to the 3rd century AD, which bears on its upper band the oldest representation of the Nativity. Afterwards, they visited the Church of San Giovanni Battista, now the council hall, with the fresco of St. John by Domenico Zampieri, better known by the pseudonym Domenichino.

The third stop was the Church of Santa Maria del Suffragio, which houses the wooden statue of the Madonna Pagliarola from the 13th century AD, where the concert of the ensemble "Le Pizziche" also took place, expertly directed by Maestro Fabio Giudice from the conservatory of L'Aquila, who performed classical music from the 1600s to the early 1900s, rearranged for string instruments. At the end of the concert, the group visited the Church of San Francesco, with its magnificent coffered ceiling and the organ from the 1600s. Finally, in our historic headquarters, the group was able to visit our unique "Museum of Oil and the Olive of the Monti Ernici." The event concluded in our "Sensory Garden" with a tasting of typical local products sourced from farms and businesses in the area.

In short, another successful event exactly one year after the "Oleario" event of September 10, 2022, organized in collaboration with CAPOL of Latina, confirming that it is possible to talk about extra virgin olive oil, and that people are increasingly willing to approach this wonderful world made of tradition, culture, and technical innovation, but above all of broad vision for the future and interconnections.

Cultural interconnections, which must unite and stimulate our minds exactly as our five senses stimulate our brains, allowing us to perceive the outside world.

Our thanks, and mine in particular, go to all the people who supported us in the organization and to the many who participated.
